Susan sought your vote for State Representative because she cares about the future of our communities and New Hampshire.

She will serve the people of District 3 Strafford County and work with the leadership of Governor Lynch to keep our economy moving toward a strong recovery, our environment safe, and our future secure though efficient, effective, and above all, transparent government.

Susan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Radford University and a Master of Science degree in Hydrogeology from Wright State University.  She is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter with the Insurance Institute of America and a New Hampshire Licensed Professional Geologist.

Having moved from Minnesota to New Hampshire in 1992 to accept a director position with Liberty Mutual, she has owned and operated Murphy Risk Services, a specialty environmental claims firm since 1999.  Her business and professional experience spans New England, the United States, and Western and Central Europe.

Her local community involvement includes serving on the Barrington Advisory Budget Committee and Water and Sewer Committee.  She is a Mentor for university students with the Geological Society of America.

Susan has been a longtime member of the Dover Community Pool and the Rochester Country Club. She is an avid cyclist and a cross country skier. She enjoys organic gardening and cooking for family and friends. 

Susan has a brother, Greg (44), and a sister, Vicki (53), who despite the many challenges of being mentally and physically disabled, lives independently.  Susan and her partner of 17 years, Betsy Staber, lived in Dover prior to moving to Barrington in 1998.  They plan to retire in Barrington.
